About this section: Content CategoriesSmaller buckets that live inside a group.

Purpose

Categories let you organize content inside a group. They can also set their own access rule when needed.

Key fields

  • Group: The group this category belongs to.
  • Code: A short internal name.
  • Kind: Optional grouping label.
  • Name and URL: The friendly name and URL piece for this category.
  • Published / Status: Whether the category is ready to be visible and whether it is active.

Example

Inside a Videos group, add a Trailers category for trailer content and publish it when it's ready.

Consequences

  • Moving a category into a different group can change who can see its content.
  • Unpublished or inactive categories shouldn't be relied on as live.
Changing the site loads this section automatically.
